MEET LUCY

Hello, I’m Lucy

I’m a trained and qualified counsellor, psychotherapist, coach, yoga teacher, meditation teacher and breath-work facilitator.

I’m also a mother, wife, widow, sister, daughter, and friend. A living, breathing human being just like you!

I work primarily through the IFS (Internal Family Systems) modality of therapy because, in my experience, both personally and professionally, it works!

I began working privately with clients in 2010 as a yoga, breathwork, and meditation teacher. In 2022, I added training and experience as a psychotherapist, counsellor, and coach to work with the whole human condition: body, mind, and spirit. I worked for two years as a bereavement therapist in a local hospice before setting up my private practice in Tunbridge Wells.

Registered through the BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists), I have been awarded a level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Coaching from the University of East London. This unique, pioneering model takes a fully integrated 360-degree view of every person, seamlessly and progressively exploring their past, present, and future dynamics within the therapy space.

I’m a Level 2 Trained IFS Therapist and am currently on the IFS Institute pathway to becoming a Certified IFS Practitioner. Some may say that parts of me are a little obsessed with IFS and its transformative view on the human psyche.

I have a huge respect for the holistic nature of ourselves, believing that our bodies are much more than ‘taxis for our brains’. That’s why my personal approach to counselling respects and validates our bodies as much as our minds, head, heart, belly & spirit.

I look forward to meeting you and guiding you on your unique journey into self-exploration, discovery and understanding!

Let’s get started, as they say, now is the very best time….

This Thing in You

will not take no for an answer.

This that somehow

shines strong

beneath the heavy hard hurry

of your conveniently

noisy life. This shapeless

something that shows up

everywhere—even when

you forget to notice.

It does not understand safe

or sensible, will not let you

get away with half-hearted

lifeless lies.

It’s that wordless

something

that does not know how

to be quiet. It will continue knocking

until you throw open

the door. Until you become

Ablaze. Awake. Madly in love.

The dazzling artist

of your own

wild life.

By Julia Fehrenbacher

Start Close In

Start close in,
don’t take the second step
or the third,
start with the first
thing
close in,
the step
you don’t want to take.

Start with
the ground
you know,
the pale ground
beneath your feet,
your own
way to begin
the conversation.

An Invitation to Brave Space

Together we will create brave space

Because there is no such thing as a “safe space”
We exist in the real world

We all carry scars and we have all caused wounds.

In this space
We seek to turn down the volume of the outside world,
We amplify voices that fight to be heard elsewhere,

We call each other to more truth and love

We have the right to start somewhere and continue to grow.

We have the responsibility to examine what we think we know,

We will not be perfect.

This space will not be perfect.

It will not always be what we wish it to be
But

It will be our brave space together,

and

We will work in it side by side….
